Hello friends,
I have taken a lovely break for the holidays and now I am back with a regular (hopefully) posting schedule of every 2 weeks.
In November, I was feeling inspired and newly invigorated to optimize my finances after beta reading the Choose FI book before it’s launch. That FIRE’d up energy led to me posting this post on my Facebook wall.
That post snowballed into sharing resources, then at the recommendation of some friends, putting together an “Optimizing Your Day to Day” event, then creating an on-going educational meetup group called “Finances & Friends” and finally, testing out a new one on one FI Fitness call with clients and friends. Now I want to bring that special offering to you!
As I said in my post and want to say again, I feel it is unfortunate how taboo the topic of Finance is in our society. Because of that, many people never learn how to make their money work for them which can save them years of work and stress. Even as an educator in the Financial space, many of my close friends and even family members, tip toe around exact dollar amount earnings and investment holdings. My goal is to break down those barriers and truly help people set up their lives.
I have been considering ironing out the curriculum to see if I can take it around to local high schools as an after school offering. Giving people financial know how when they are young, can save them from getting into big debt when they are learning with their first credit card (I did this), buying into huge student loans (I also did this) and get them saving in a Roth IRA once they get their first job!
So in the celebration of the New Year lets get our Finances dialed in! While people are making resolutions to improve their diets, bodies, etc, I would also recommend adding some financial goals to that roster. Lets get you started with a plan that will set you up for the rest of your life.
